The Steppes
The element of surprise has evaporated like a morning mist.
Elite units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) flew past lesser trained Kursk border guards to eventually meet sufficient resistance. Behind them fuel and ammunition depots were destroyed while their supporting infantry reinforced the initially captured territory. Many hamlets were harassed, bypassed or captured. Sudzha held. The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (AFRF) deployed reserves, some from nearby fronts where still fresh and fully armed and trained units were available.
The AFU attempted a few secondary probes while Russian reconnaissance and air power (plane and drone) destroyed vehicle after vehicle after vehicle (255, including 32 tanks). A deep-fake of Maria Zakharova, Russia's fearless spokeswoman of their Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was released. Wounded AFU personnel flooded the hospitals in Sumy.
NATO's first invasion of the territory of the Russian Federation has hit the wall of reality. The shock which hit the Russian people will, through the methodical actions of their armed forces, be replaced by a steely determination and a final understanding that their leadership were right. The West is trying to destroy Russia. The West has tried and failed before, and the Russian people will again dsiplay their resolute determination to defend their culture and land.
The shock which will hit what is left of Ukrainian society, when they realize the calamity being created by their leadership, will be replaced by a righteous anger. The invading Ukrainian dupes will die, their names unremembered. The names of Russians who died defending their motherland will be inscribed on monuments.
While heads are scratched in inquiring Western media looking for any sensible potential motive for this folly, Russia and its non-Western allies are logging this invasion with two notes. It is what it was: an invasion, though a hopeless one. The West with its zealous, intemperate and inept allies are flailing. They are attempting to create chaos and disaster, to provoke.

The results of the dual assassination by Israel of a Hizbollah commander in a civilian building in Lebanese capital, Beirut, and the political leader of Hamas, just after the inauguration of Iran's new president Pezeshkian in its capital, Tehran, are twofold. Hizbollah has informed the Zionist controlled state that it will suffer a reprisal. While this is also true from Iran, it now hosts Russian troops manning Russian advanced S-400 air-defense systems and electronic warfare systems too. Israel's ability to effectively attack Iran just got much harder.
Russia has warned Israel of consequences for attacking its troops manning this equipment, and that its nuclear response capability is global. Israel has just raised the ramifications for continued military aggression against Iran into the stratosphere, literally.
A week of the West's clamoring media predicting a response from Iran has again proven that it knows very little. That symphony of alarm has informed the world that Iran is morally justified to respond. Its choice not to, during the din, has elevated its international standing. Its leadership are mature and strategic. They have used the period to further solidify their ties with like-minded neighbouring nations against the depravity of the Zionist state and its Western backers.
Israel's provocation killed two men. Iran, with its allies, are unifying a region.
In history's book, will be written that Israel is committing a genocide which the US and Germany are arming, and that neither the EU nor NATO are opposing. The forces against the genocide are Ansar Allah (Yemen), Hizbollah (Lebanon) and South Africa (via their case at the International Court of Justice). They are supported by Russia, China, Iran, Brazil, India and many other allies, none of which come from the West. The West's media can dance to the tune of their daily news cycle dominated by idiots speaking in front of lecterns spouting talking points from US departments or NATO political leaders. But the pages of history are being written. Everybody knows who is one which side of them.
Non-Western geopolitical cooperatives (BRICS+/SCO/...) understand the transition which is inexorably playing out. In the end, it is all about economic power backed by effective military capability and technology. The victory will be economic. Patient, cautious use of military force is, unfortunately, a required part of the strategy. The West has no moral leg on which to stand. Its desperate desire for military confrontation can be allowed, in small measure, to partially fuel its complexes and ease its downfall.
The growing economic divide in the West will lead its people, eventually, to understand just how horribly they have been shafted during the Unipolar moment. Their prosperity has been squandered on wars, austerity and making a few people rich. The West will, finally, be dismantled from within.
The rest of the world, the global majority, can calmly proceed to a more strategic solution to the shared resource management problem which is incumbent on a finite planet. The globe spanning hegemonic experiment has failed in a maniacal lust for power, not just over the rest of the world, but also over its own citizenry.
Humanity is creating a new solution.
