Malaysia has formally applied to join BRICS

Malaysia has just applied to join BRICS. The world's most influential diplomat, Sergei Lavrov, was there to welcome Malaysia's application. This is a significant coup for BRICS and China.
There are a number of hyper-critical sea lanes, being straights or canals, in the world.
Ansarallah have recently reminded everyone of the importance of the Bab-el-Mandeb straight at the southern end of the Red Sea. The major Israeli port of Eilat has just gone broke due to lack of trade. Obviously the Suez and Panama canals are critically important to international trade. The same is true for the straights of Taiwan.
There is another, the Malacca straight between Malaysia and Indonesia.
One side of it has just applied to join the BRICS+ multinational, "multi-nodal" geopolitical block. The Asian members of BRICS and all of the SCO will be most pleased.
Witness the wave of nations moving away from the belligerent West and towards a growing international alliance of nations who do not want to have their international trade dominated by old, aggressive, colonial states who create wars and support genocide.
The final domino to secure the southern Maritime Silk Road, would be Indonesia.
