All Truss’d Up
As of the afternoon of Thursday 20th of October, 2022, RT reported and showed the footage of Liz Truss resigning as the Prime Minister of Great Britain. They also commented that she has held the post for the shortest time since the 18th Century. Thus, Truss has thrust herself into a few record books.
While it is true that Britain has been suffering due to continued "neo-liberal" policies, the label that will be placed in alternative media is the "(z)Elensky Curse". Europe's willingness to sever its supplies of affordable energy from the Russian Federation and to arm the most corrupt state in Europe, Ukraine, has brought an all too expected outcome. Paying three times more for energy via tanker to an insufficient number of port facilities to supply demand is destined to fail.
Protests in France against Macron have grown, as if the Yellow Vests were insufficient. Germany's Chancellor Olaf Scholz can clearly see the writing on the wall, though it was really his foreign and finance ministers who took the podium on supporting the USA's war against Russia. Preceding the recent Italian election the parliamentary appointed EU Commission chairwoman Ursula von der Leyen declared that should the Italian voters choose the wrong choice she had "tools" to respond.
This is the core of Europe imploding in political turmoil: Germany, France, the UK and Italy. While the ideologues run wild, there has been a voice or two of sanity. I name Hungary's Viktor Orbán.
Motives and Decline
Who cares if this was a bunch of imbeciles running financial and foreign policy or if they were well informed and chose this path? What is happening is real. People need to pay bills, feed their families and heat their homes. Whether the "leaders" were ignorant or malicious is secondary. Expect a revisit during the late northern spring when the knives will come out.
As informed commentators like Chris Hedges have observed, empires in decline tend to lash out. They embark upon military adventurism as a way to reassure themselves of their omnipotence. People die, and these adventures usually fail. A recent example is Britain and France's approach to the "Suez Crisis" wherein Egypt under President Nasser wished to nationalize the canal and pay for all outstanding debts to take ownership of it. In response, the UK and France launched a military campaign which saw both of their already dwindling empires fall further.
The current case is Ukraine. The USA succeeded in goading Russia into a military campaign which the USA wishes to prolong to "weaken Russia". Have these idiots not studied history? The last successful military campaign against Russia was by the Mongols in the 13th century.
Oh, and while they're at it they are provoking a conflict with China over Taiwan. How about funding arms to Taiwan in the billions of dollars? We can all see this for what it is, a boondoggle for the major industry which the USA still possesses; arms manufacture. Alongside of the merchants of death are aligned the information control operators known as the mainstream media and the tech monopolies, filtering information, producing narrative and banning dissent. Hey, USA do you think nobody can see this? Please revert to that at which you excel: innovate, construct, be the "beacon on the hill".
The "Global South"
Firstly, this is an horrific term and should be rejected. I like the old "Non-Aligned Movement", or NAM. It rhymes with Viet Nam. Those two words are the nation's chosen name, as recorded by the United Nations. In Vietnamese, "nam" means water which is becoming an increasingly scarce resource. Bar the Amazon, and perhaps the Mississippi, the world’s largest fresh water rivers are in southern and eastern Asia or the Middle East. The Mekong, Ganges, Brahmaputra, Yellow River, Nile, Euphrates, Tigris and Indus, among others; these are the results of the sun and plate tectonics over millions of years, not the politics or military force of a moment.

The NAM's response to this current conflict is to declare it for what it is. You, USA have picked a fight with Russia. It has got nothing to do with us, and we wish to be neutral. We want stability and trade relation options. Piss off with your "Us and Them" narrative.
As mentioned in a recent audio publication, every nation needs to supply power to its industries and peoples. Thus, a nation without the resources or industry to provide this energy wishes for the greatest width to procure this essential resource from other nations. In the early 2010's the USA hit upon the energy source of "fracking" and elevated itself into becoming an energy exporter, meaning that it could theoretically supply its own demand.
USA actions just preceding and soon following that point are worthy of review. In 2003 the USA and UK, without a UN mandate, invaded Iraq on false pretenses. It destroyed and then hoped to rebuild and own Iraq's oil infrastructure and resources. In 2011 the USA with NATO partners made war against Libya, another oil producer. Soon thereafter came the most historically crippling sanctions against Iran, another oil producer. There followed a funded and trained insurgency against Syria, another energy producer. At the same time sanctions were imposed, after a failed coup attempt upon Venezuela, another oil exporter.
The current USA regime is releasing more of its "Strategic Petroleum Reserves" to lower prices "at the tank" as a strategy to shore up a looming disaster for the Democratic party in the mid-terms. This follows OPEC+ saying "Nah" to increasing production. In fact, they reduced it. What the hell does one think will happen if one instigates wars and sanctions against all of the secondary traders in the energy market? Planned or accidental, the results were as obvious as "tits on a bull".
To move its king out of the line of pawns defending it, the USA also decided to impound the foreign reserves of Afghanistan and Russia. The warnings were heard loud and clear.
The NAM has said "enough of this". They want a world in which they can negotiate and trade.
Standing Alone
I revere Barbara Lee's speech in the USA House of Representatives following the crimes of 9/11 on the occasion of the Authorization for the Use of Military Force (AUMF) debate. She stood as a lone voice, including both houses, against this law to authorize a military response. Her logic is simple and direct. The nation was in mourning, or in shock. This was not the time to authorize military action.
The same is true now. A growing economic shock, heightened by inflation, is running through both Europe and America. The time now is for calming tensions and tending to the needs of your people.

Not only youtube, but from many other major media agglomeration sites is content downloadable, from Soundcloud to Rumble. This author almost always does this. No ads, and easy pause and movement around a work. All of these “screenshot/frames” which you see used as graphics come from this. It is worth the effort. With a little more effort you can also use Tor to prevent tracking. With a little more effort you could install yt-dl (for GNU/Linux only) which is an integrated tool combining yt-dlp and Tor, though these tools need to be installed separately.
