Caitlin Johnstone points to the insanity of the USA government establishing a "Disinformation Governance Board" (DGB). Creating an unconstitutional agency is pure political malice.
In the end, this monstrosity will come before the USA's judicial branch of government whose mandate is to interpret their constitution and laws within the political events of the time. The court may bend, but it cannot yield. To quote the First Amendment as published by Cornell Law School's Legal Information Institute:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
[Quote: emphasis added.]
The key word here is the first, "Congress". The Department of Homeland Security is an executive agency authorized/funded by Congress. However, this new Ministry of Disinformation Attribution has been created within and under the executive branch. Questions have already emerged on the floor of congress around funding. In the end, the political stupidity provides a gaping hole for a legal challenge. The peoples’ representatives do not mince their words. A letter’s first sentence reads:
We write to express our profound concern with the Department of Homeland Security’s recent creation of a “Disinformation Governance Board”.
[Quote: emphasis added, to highlight the consternation.]
The DGB sub-agency will likely be detonated before the conclusion of an appellate court. This cannot reach the supreme court who would, no matter how stacked with different political appointees, ignite this tinder. In itself, this raises the interesting curiosity of the executive branch creating agencies for short term use before the judicial branch burns them.
The DGB is a Hindenburg trial balloon.
[Image: as we laugh at the stupidity of the behaviour of one branch of government abusing the time delay of being told “You can’t do that, Dave” by another branch, the Hindenburg disaster was a human tragedy.]
The key observation here is not about the impending doom of this obviously idiotic executive political ploy. Some questions are:
What creates the motives for this insanity? Why are they so desperate?
The Steel Plant
We descend into speculation, which is dangerous territory for a journalist, but a garden for an opinion writer. Switching hats, I encourage listening to Pepe Escobar's predictions about what is going to emerge from the bowels of the Azovstal Iron and Steelworks plant in Mariupol (see Sources below, and the time offset). Political Kryptonite may emerge. Are there multiple instructions from governments for members of their senior military staff to die rather than testify to any Truth Commission?
The blackest of cloth will be placed over this potential political eventuality. Of all of the medical and food aid provided by Russia to peoples in Ukraine, nothing will compare to that provided to any senior foreign military personnel captured in the Azovstal plant. Has the Ukrainian state been coerced into a destruction of Russian speakers and citizens in the east? Any testimony to confirm this claim is incalculably valuable to Russia.

Returning to the deebeegee (DBG), a.k.a PropOrNot 2.0, there are a collection of interests which motivate its creation. Russian disinformation is the irrelevant bogeyman. The truth is much more subtle and dangerous. Media segmentation described in Matt Taibbi's "Hate Inc." is a key part. This segregation creates narrative controlled ideological blocks; a society divided into politically isolated antagonistic groups.
The far more pernicious problem is the economic destruction of the populace.
A recent highlight of Sir Isaac Newton's 1687 publication, which defines “action and reaction” as two parts of one interaction, exposes the total lack of basic scientific training of USA policy makers. The problem the establishment possesses, due to the economic disenfranchisement of USA citizenry, is not the population's disagreement, but their rising anger.
The question is not whether a reaction will occur, but at what scale?
You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.
This quote is contentiously attributed to Abraham Lincoln. Who cares about the attribution?
See the spray-paint.
