US abandons Project Ukraine

In mid January 2025, British Prime Minister Sir Starmer signed a 100 year Partnership Agreement with war torn, NATO proxy Ukraine through its expired President Zelensky. 4 months earlier in September, 2025, this newsletter published "CI-6 Takes Center Stage as NATO Bows Out". Although the BSB (Blinken, Sullivan, Biden) administration did approve some limited escalations in weaponry provision and targeting for Ukraine during those four months, there was only one place for them to go. That was the JASSM class of missiles which the Pentagon seems to have reserved, to not expose them to Russian engineers to develop counter measures. The only other options for NATO were their own troops or nuclear weapons. This defines NATO's defeat.
This week 4 significant events will occur.
On or just after Tuesday 11th, Trump's envoy General Kellogg will visit Kiev to pass on whichever message Trump wishes Zelensky to hear.
On Wednesday, US Secretary of Defense Hegseth will attend two meetings in Brussels, the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, ahead of
the Meeting of NATO Ministers of Defence on Thursday.
US Vice President Vance will attend the Munich Security Conference, scheduled for Friday to Sunday, where he will meet expired Ukrainian President Zelensky. Vance will be joined by Hegseth and US Secretary of State Rubio
The Ukraine Defense Contact Group is the organisation which the BSB administration "Trump-proofed" by moving it out from under the US umbrella, into NATO. It has been the organisation coordinating arms supplies to Ukraine to fuel the proxy war. It will not meet at the normal location of Ramstein, the US foreign airbase in Germany, but NATO HQ in Brussels. It will be headed by the UK, not the US. This alone is a strong signal that the Trump administration is dumping Project Ukraine, as advocated by Steve Bannon and others, and supported by US Vice-President Vance.
On February 9th, Associate Press (AP) reported that US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz,
underscored that the Trump administration is looking to use this week’s engagements to begin talks on clawing back some of the United States’ assistance to Ukraine. He said European allies will also need to take a greater role in supporting Ukraine going forward.
AP wrote that Zelensky adviser, Andriy Yermak, will also attend the Munich security conference. Yermak hinted that Ukraine will use the MSC to plead for security guarantees. So, what happened to Ukraine's lauded, bilateral defense agreements with several European nations? We are back to the definition of Russia's victory — no NATO state will put uniformed troops in Ukraine until there is a ceasefire, or Russia will correctly view them as enemy combatants and kill them, quickly.
Waltz' warning is crystal clear: over to you Europe — we're out as soon as the core of the settlement details with Russia are agreed. This is what is happening right now, the reason for the multiple ministerial contacts between the US and Russian governments and the phone call(s) between the Russian and US Presidents.
The purpose of Starmer's folly of a century long "partnership" with destroyed and destitute Ukraine is clearer now that the UK has also taken over the Contact Group. The partnership is to preserve the military intelligence contacts with the Ukrainian internal and external intelligence organisations, the SBU and GUR. CI-6 have run many, nasty terrorist operations in Russia via using Muslim extremists hired by their Ukrainian intelligence proxy-friends. The valuable connections, potentially for other operations but more importantly to influence whichever government forms after Zelensky is removed, are to be maintained at least by the MI-6 half of CI-6.
Trump's bombastic, economic threat rhetoric to Russia has been noted as meaningless by many informed commentators. Just as Israel failed to defeat Hamas, the US and EU failed to undermine Russia's economy. All that was achieved was damaging some of the major EU member states' economies, particularly Germany's. Those Trump statements were for various audiences, but not Russia. The US is in no position to make demands for the proxy war settlement. But Russia can only effectively negotiate with the US and still wants to end the conflict.
The party with absolutely no leverage is Ukraine.
Zelensky has been threatened with elections by Kellogg. Waltz has threatened the EU that US military support for Project Ukraine is ending. Trump is speaking with Putin.

Stephen Bryen noted the complexity of the deal ahead and provided some worrying context. He wrote that "Kellogg says that he is preparing 'options' for President Trump but won't reveal them at the Munich conference". It is somewhat worrying that Kellogg is preparing these 'options' as many of this statements on Ukraine have been divorced from reality.
Bryen summarized the complexity of Russia's requirements to end the conflict, without mentioning the European part of a Eurasian security architecture, as:
no ceasefire until entire deal in place,
recognition of new Russian territories,
banning of Ukraine from NATO (and no NATO 'peacekeepers' either),
limitations on Ukraine’s defence forces
return of Russian Central Bank assets, possibly with interest,
access to SWIFT and dropping of sanctions,
Ukraine replaces laws targeting Russian speakers with constitutional amendments guaranteeing protection for minorities

Ukrainian project is deep state project spanning multiple presidencies.
It’s simply been moved to “NATO” and the European s being forced to pay for it.
You know where NATO propagandist in chief Jens Stoltenberg ( revealed by Sy Hersh as a 3 letter agency asset) is now? He was suddenly unveiled as finance minister of Norway last week. The Norwegians will now be impoverished and stripped of their social welfare state to pay for the deep state NATO war.
Similar things are going on in Germany, Sweden and Finland where the welfare state is being dismantled to pay for this.
