If I was not running low on fiat currency right now (I am experiencing 'self-publishing poverty') I would do a paid subscription for sure. I am however always extremely wealthy when it comes to defining my wealth by the diversity, quality and quantity of heirloom seeds I have saved from my garden, so if you would be interested in accepting heirloom seed donations as a gift I am all in for embracing the gift economy :)

Gavin,

You have chosen your currency with great care. I am honored to be offered some of your heirloom seeds and wish to accept. I will consult my gardening friends and have a think myself as to types of plants for which you may possess seeds. You could begin by listing the types of plants for which you have seed. I am particularly interested in food stuffs, herbs and berries in particular. Also, fragrant flowers.

I envisage the exchange as follows. After seed selection, I send you fiat currency to fund the postal of the seeds to Australia and if you are still for the idea, you would provide a few seeds for the different plant types. Given that seeds are not heavy, hopefully the postage will not be expensive. I trust that you have appropriate containers (sealed plastic bags perhaps) and labels for the packing of the seeds.

How does that sound?

Thank you for your very generous offer.

Greetings from Canada my friend!

Sounds good to me! Right now I have lots of Goji, Tulsi, Echinacea, Heirloom Chili peppers, Hopi Black Sunflower, Hopi Red Dye Amaranth, Rosa Rugosa, Runner Bean, Heirloom Tomato and Snap Pea seeds. I may have a few others hiding away in the herb, berry and fragrant flower varieties too, i`ll take a peek in my collection when I get a minute in the next few days and do some seed recon :)

You wouldn't happen to live close to Strathalbyn would you? I have a friend who lives there and I was planning on sending some seeds his way some time soon anyways, so if you were within driving distance I imagine he would be cool with you swinging by the pick them up in person (and save you the postage fees). My friend Andrew runs a project called "Grow Free" that involves sharing free seeds, seedlings and garden crops for free in several communities (so he is used to having visitors of that type) :) . If you are not near him no worries I can ship the seeds right to you.

You can get in touch with me via recipesforreciprocity@proton.me for the mailing address info.

Let me know if any of the seeds I listed above would be appreciated and be able to find a home in your garden and i`ll start throwing together a seed package for you.

I took a gander through my personal heirloom seed collection and found I also have Blue moon Wisteria, Blue Butterfly pea, Lemon Balm and Elderberry seeds.

When you are ready you can email me and let me know which of those interest you and then I can put a package together.
