The Blockade Bites: Yemen's Compliance with the Genocide Convention Continues
Unmixing narratives on the Red Sea from Operation Prosperity Guardian to Lloyds of London

Operation Mowing the Other Lawn
The US' attempt to form an international naval attack fleet under its command on the Red Sea and in the Persian gulf concluded with an underwhelming, plaintive whimper. Staunch "special relationship" vassal Britain responded affirmatively to the call, while every other nation of the 10 others that allowed themselves to be named kept their vessels under their command or just sent a few extra sailors for a wee holiday in Manama, Bahrain, the foreign military base "home" of the US' fifth fleet.
At the outset of the Yemeni government's (*) attack on shipping bound for Israel, to give the Zionists a taste of the medicine they've been choking Gaza with these last 15 years, international shipping companies began to re-route their vessels around the Cape of Good Hope. This naturally leads to increased prices due to supply chain disruptions caused by the thousands of nautical miles being added to the journey and fuel and other provisions needing to be purchased for it. This in turn eats into the already slim profit margins between the sellers and end receivers of the goods being shipped.
But, the re-routing is coming to an end, Hannah Jose, obliquely informs us in an article about India:
Maersk, one of the first shipping companies to announce it was rerouting operations away from the Red Sea, on Sunday said it was preparing to resume shipping operations there and in the Gulf of Aden.
Another of the world's largest shipping companies, Hapag-Lloyd, also said it was considering returning.
This implies that at least some shipping will be safe in transit through these routes, or so believe the shippers and the maritime insurers who are the people who really set the prices.
Do the insurers believe that:
the Anṣār Allāh government of Yemen will not attack insured ships or
the US will be able to consistently protect them?
There are no points for choosing the former.
Attacks on shipping from Yemeni soil now number over 100 incidents, Patrick Lawrence informs us. Many of those have been successful, causing fires. As any sailor will tell you, fires aboard ships are no laughing matter. They are life threatening and also potentially extremely expensive to repair, for various safety certifications need to be re-issued even after the restoration work is complete.
It is palpably obvious that the US Fifth Fleet, with or without its vassals in support, cannot protect shipping. The reason why is doubly obvious when one understands the economics behind the attacks. Here, again Mr. Lawrence brings the relevant details to our attention:
[Anṣār Allāh] are firing drones they make for $2,000 each. In response the U.S. Navy is trying to shoot them down with missiles that cost $1 million to more than $4 million a copy.
Thus, Lloyd's of London and Mærsk are not reassured by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin's antics of Operation Papa’s Garden whateveritscalled.
To understand what is going on we turn to the ever informative John Helmer:
The effectiveness of the Houthi ship targeting campaign has so threatened the movement of vital cargoes into and out of Europe that shipping, port, and military officials in France, Italy, Spain, and Greece are now trying to avert a commercial disaster for themselves by arranging secret safe-passage deals with Yemen and Iran in exchange for which they are applying a blockade on Israel’s cargoes, vessels and ports.
Yips. The Anṣār Allāh attacks are essentially threatening an economic meltdown in Europe. So, the ship insurers are being reassured by whoever is seeking confirmation from "Yemen and Iran". The answer being received is exactly that which Anṣār Allāh have been saying all along.
They will attack any ship bound for Israel until a ceasefire is reached over the Gaza genocide. Which is to say, if you're not docking in Israel, we aint got no beef with you.
Thus, and I cannot stress this enough, there is one, and only one nation on this planet which is actually actively complying with the Genocide Convention. It is war torn Yemen.
Lebanon's Hezbollah comes in a close second because of the attacks they've been launching on exclusively military targets in the Galilee and Golan Heights.
Everybody else is talking politics at the UN, which is all well and good, but does nothing to dissuade the Zionists and propagandized Jewish Israelis from continuing to kill babies and pregnant mothers and the elderly etc. during their genocide operation in Gaza.
Thus, when the US or the EU claim the moral high ground, shove this in their ideological faces. And when they start foaming at the mouth, just tell them that international martime insurers and shippers are happy to negotiate with Anṣār Allāh or Iran rather than the West to secure their interests.
Squirm, you worms.
(*) One could argue about whether there is a government in Yemen. But, Anṣār Allāh are firing missiles at international targets from the territory of Yemen, so if there is a government they either permit this, or they are so ineffective as to not be able to prevent it, in which case, Anṣār Allāh are the effective government.
