Traitorous, corrupt Zelensky is in serious trouble

The velocity and magnitude of international political and economic change by the new US government under President Donald Trump reached a new high on Monday, 2025-02-24, at the United Nations' General Assembly (UNGA) and Security Council (UNSC).

Round one, at the UNGA, saw both the minimalist “Path to Peace” US resolution (see title image — yes, that’s all of it) calling for an end to the war, and the Ukrainian resolution repeating the NATO narrative of "the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation", submitted. Ukraine's resolution was adopted 93 / 65 / 18 (for/abstain/against). The resolution from the US was adopted 93 / 73 / 8 but then had amendments added to it. These "EU led" amendments, which the US voted against, included political language condemning Russia. Russia failed to have “including by addressing its root causes” added. In the end the US abstained from its own European-amended resolution which was adopted 60 / 81 / 18.

Round one went to Ukraine's suicidal political leadership and the European supporters of the murderous war which has destroyed Ukraine.

Round two, at the UNSC, saw the US reissue its minimalist resolution. Russia's attempt to add a light clause, “deeply rooted reasons”, was voted down, as were efforts by European members to cut-and-paste into it the "full-scale" narrative. The unamended US resolution was adopted 10/5/0. No member state dared to vote against it. All five abstentions were European (UK, France, Denmark, Greece & Slovenia).

The US, Russia and China won round two on the bigger stage.

Winston Churchill once quipped that the US can be trusted to do the right thing after it's tried everything else. Obviously, the French and Brits haven't finished trying yet. The April 2024 announced "renewed Entente" between Britain and France is still operational.

Staying behind

French and British covert operatives, or de-frocked "special forces", have played a role only just behind those of Russia and the US in the NATO-Russia Ukraine war. Kit Klarenberg reported on British enthusiasm for a re-start of Operation Gladio type "stay behind" armies in Ukraine.

The war for the peace is raging. The British and French have invested heavily in the war and intend to profiting from it.

Larry Johnson recommended an Alex Krainer article which cited an AENews report. It refers to a "leak" from Ukrainian intelligence which claimed that the "100 Year" British-Ukrainian agreement signed 4 days before Donald Trump took office includes an unpublished annex:

according to which, after the fighting, the United Kingdom will gain control of all Ukrainian ports, all nuclear power plants, all gas storage, all gas transmission systems, all titanium reserves and all gas extraction in Ukraine in exchange for unconditional British support and military assistance.

The war has informed everyone to be very cautious with "leaks" from Ukrainian intelligence.

However, the February 2025 "100 Year" deal made no sense on its face, except for the maintenance of the intelligence relationship between MI-6 and Ukraine's GUR/SBU (external/internal military intelligence organisations). A financial and facility component (minerals, gas transit, ports) gives the agreement some credibility. Exposing just how corrupt Zelensky is, a "deal" between Ukraine and the US over "rare earths" was finalized on Monday 2025-02-25. It is just as opaque as the secret annex in the "100 year" deal.

Antiwar summarized from a Financial Times article:

a fund [will be established] where Ukraine will put 50% of its proceeds from rare earth minerals and other resources, including oil and gas, and the fund would invest in projects in Ukraine. The activity of Naftogaz, Ukraine’s largest oil and gas company, and other state-owned enterprises that currently fund the Ukrainian government will be excluded from the fund.

It’s unclear what percentage of the fund will be owned by the US as those details will be worked out in follow-on agreements. The deal also doesn’t include explicit security guarantees from the US, which was one of Zelensky’s major demands.

The leak likely destabilized the already fragile relations between the US and UK. They now have to horse trade behind the scenes to sort out the mess. The loser is, of course, Zelensky who has been selling Ukraine to multiple buyers. This may have been the motivation for the leak — even in Ukraine, there's only so much traitorous corruption one can permit.

To summarize, the spoils of the peace are being squabbled over by the NATO nations which funded and armed the war. Russia's gains are below the feet of its soldiers and new citizens.

Electing a peacemaker to sign away Ukraine

Irrespective of what British PM, Sir Starmer, achieves today at the White House, he has called a "summit" for the weekend with European leaders still invested in the war. Britain wants its armed forces keeping the "peace" in Ukraine to secure the investments it believes it has acquired. Britain's weakness is Zelensky's illegitimacy.

The AENews article suggested that the Ukrainian traitor will soon be arrested. The Trump administration has already suggested he leave the country. Elections are coming soon to Ukraine because both Russia and the US need someone legitimate to sign agreements specifying the terms for the end of hostilities.

Whatever transpires, whatever is left of Ukraine will be bankrupted to foreign interests for decades.

• Dima is NOT a legal expert, but notes that the Ukrainian Rada just passed a law reaffirming Zelensky’s presidency (which it cannot, that is a constitutional matter), that the head of Ukraine’s constitutional court is abroad and that Zelensky jailed the head of Ukraine’s supreme court.
