The discipline of this work turns Week in Review, now from week 17 of 2023, into a database of the Antiwar headlines and a curated selection of alternate commentary on geopolitical changes. This is the product towards which I hope each episode contributes towards.
However, the point of this is to show the video/audio of the strike. This demonstrates that it is not a home-made missile, it is serious tech. And that is all we need to know to know who is responsible and thus demolish Israel's deflections.
The cut video has no distressing footage. There can be no reason to take it down, except for censorship, which I've yet to see from Substack. Thus, it is posted to make this one point in a manner which would be very difficult to censor.
At 5am (London time) this morning, I was woken by a nightmare in which a crowd of strangers were looting and wrecking a home. They threatened me and I ran down flights of broken stone stairs. Suddenly a massive explosion blew the stairway out from under me and I was buried, unable to move in rubble and dust.
I knew that I had astral travelled to Gaza in my sleep. Believe me, I often astral travel and I know when it has happened because reaching full consciousness here, in the now, is a physically impactful and jolting experience.
It took me two hours to calm down and to stop feeling shaken and nauseous.
As soon as I was able, I tried to find up to date news from Gaza but all I saw was old footage and reports. I am certain that the hospital incident is only one atrocity.
Israel is insane with hatred, avarice and criminality.
There will be far worse news to come so brace yourselves.
I don't think so, Frances. And I hope not too. I've laid out my reasons in the Day in Review episodes; global financial collapse and its a very stupid thing for the Israelis to do. The situation really is a checkmate.
Interestingly, there is a lot of political capital on offer for any honest broker to take this shitshow and create a political resolution, which is the two state solution. It will take years. Much must be invested in it. China could do this. The question is whether they would like to step back, which I expect they may. Who then? Brazil? Maybe. India? Also maybe. What about Austria? The old "neutral" states (of which India is one). There is the opportunity. Its a poisoned chalice too. So, it will take a very strong leader to do this, and they will receive all manner of political attack from both the US and Israel.
Its a very tricky thing, but ripe with potential, and the world wants it (minus US+Israel+UK). But, I expect it in my lifetime. We have turned a geopolitical corner.
