There are at least 3 plausible scenarios for the attack on Tower 22

I mentioned in Week in Review 2024 w05, having read the Antiwar article title about the Tower 22 drone having flown in on a friendly's coat tails, that I'd follow up.
Follow up
There are now at least three plausible scenarios for how the explosive laden drone pierced the defenses of the US base at Tower 22 in northeastern Jordan, 30 Km from its neighbouring base at al Tanf in Syria.
This statement is based on research assessing the top 10 links provided by internet searches via DuckDuckGo and Yandex around 2023-02-05 09:30 AEDT. A search was conducted primarily to understand the "official" narrative, and to trace its development. The discovery of another plausible scenario had me laughing out loud.
Scenario A
The false flag idea already presented is scenario A. It amounts to a friend or foe device equipped IRGC tech drone flown by the real attackers. This was an attempt to identify a possibility of an Israeli attack of which Ray McGovern has warned repeatedly.
Scenario B
The current narrative being published in the MSM begins with the fact that personnel at Tower 22 were flying drones. The attack drone bypassed their defenses because it flew in on the coat tails of one of theirs. Various other fluffy details are thrown up like "it is unclear if Tower 22 was using a regular schedule to fly their drones, and thus whether the drone accidentally of purposefully followed the other drone" etc..
The media development of this scenario demonstrates the "access journalism" in which most leading MSM publications now engage. This makes sense financially, for no effort needs to be expended on investigative journalism, which may yield no result. One always has a result with "anonymous officials". It wreaks of the process developed by Donald Rumsfeld wherein he would leak to a major paper early in the week so that on the Sunday talk shows he could cite their article as evidence of the crap he was pushing.
In this case, somewhere between 2 and 5 officials have provided information to the WSJ, Politico, AP and possibly CNN. From there everybody else just echoed their lead.
Scenario B, aka the official narrative, has several potential problems. But, it is plausible.
Scenario C
During the research I'd been reading all of the MSM dross, half of which didn't yield anything relevant. But, I'd spotted at the bottom of the Yandex search an article from The Unz Review which gave me hope of something interesting. A little discipline was required to finish the dross first.
Upon opening the link to the Unz Review article I spotted the Author:

Naturally, I almost fell off my chair in joy and anger. Why the hell, YesXorNo, did you wade in all that crap when all you had to do was look up the source list which you've curated over these last many years!?!
Then I looked at the date, 2024-01-29, and quickly went to Dances with Wolves Bears to find the original article publication date as 2024-01-28. We'll come back to that.
The scenario runs like this. The drone defense mechanism used at US military bases is called the C-RAM [Counter Rocket, Artillery and Mortar] system. These have been deployed in Ukraine for about a year now. Russia has been attacking targets defended by these systems with drones. There have been no official announcements from the Russia MoD about successful drone attacks against C-RAM defended targets.
Helmer's source is suggesting that Russia may have developed electronic counter measures for the C-RAM, reducing its effectiveness. Last week a meeting between Ansar Allah and the Iranian Security Council occurred in Moscow.
“This is a significant accomplishment,” one of the sources said. “Was the bypassing of the US air defence system at Tower-22 pulled off with Russian assistance?

If there’s no coincidence, and if this isn’t a lucky strike for the Arabs, then this may reflect a step-change up in Russian military assistance to the Iranians. Maybe Tower-22 was selected as a small target for demonstration effect, so as to send a message about the bigger targets, Al-Tanf and Muwaffaq Salti. Hitting them next makes ‘regional war’, and then US ground forces are going to be in the thick of it — the Biden Administration will have a new war on its hands — and bodybags, instead of votes, for Election Day.
That date, the 28th, pre-dates the WSJ article which CNN claimed was the first publication with the 'story'. The WSJ also claims 'Exclusive'. Yes, WSJ, you have an exclusive to the official narrative, but the independent media have two more plausible scenarios and one of them beat you to print.

Scenario D
The base had no local defense, and thus soldiers were effectively killed by their employer, the US DoD.
