I must confess that I enjoy watching the likes emerge for an article, and who gives them. Of far more interest for me is:
the pattern of the access to the references.
I have no idea who is selecting what, which is good. I can, however, see which are chosen.
References can easily be categorized into three camps: back references to other newsletter articles (not important), supporting 'general media' articles to cite facts or define terms (etc.), or far more interesting and more detailed articles (or videos) with analysis.
By seeing that which the community selects I obtain an understanding of it. The summary of what I see is that you are far more interested in the detailed/analytical articles/videos than any other. This is gratifying for me as they are usually the sources which spur the creation of the piece. This is gratifying because I have no influence over it. There is no order followed in 'top of the list' or any other pattern. It is the informative references which you follow, wherever I happen to place them.
It seems obvious to me that you are a curious and informed community, for which I am most thankful.
