You reminded me of Bill Binney’name. He was way ahead of Snowden in his revelations, but never got any recognition, which made me somewhat suspicious of Snowden when he first hit the headlines.

Of course the Patriot Act had already been prepared before 9/11 and magically brought forth after the event.

I agree entirely. I was not suspicious of Snowden, though I understand the various slanders thrown at him. People are suspicious of people with principle because it is so rare and because we see so much obvious mendacity and deception.

To stand for the Enlightment principles encoded in the US Constitution is, today, to be a dissident.
