Introduction
Discussions of who or what organized or paid for the horrific terrorist attack in the Crocus City Hall, Moscow oblast, Russia have become, frankly, boring and irrelevant. Western military intelligence has been using extremist Muslim forces to attack its political opponents for decades. One can return to the "Forgotten War" in Afghanistan from 1979. The process has never stopped.
All that changes is the frequency and intensity. The entire Syrian dirty war from 2012 until now was pursued by armed and trained Islamist extremists paid for by western military intelligence and supported through its media arms. The "Dirty War" was a trial for using a fabricated human rights organization to legitimize an insurgency. That human rights organisation was the White Helmets. It was created and run by James Le Mesurier of MI-6.
The fact that US State Dept.’s Ms Nuland-Kagan left “Project Ukraine” on March 5th does not mean that the processes she was assisting in coordinating suddenly stopped.
There is a wider, geopolitical shift occurring while the current focus of attention lies on the Crocus Hall horror. Cracks in the edifice of the US' Rules Based Order are deepening dangerously.
Behind Enemy Lines: Sparking Insurgency via Terrorism
As this newsletter has been reporting, the shift from conventional to irregular warfare by US/NATO via the war in Ukraine has been apparent for months. Based on work by Stephen Bryen this shift was first identified in this newsletter on January 26th, 2024. Since then, indications of this change away from the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and towards the covert side (GUR/SBU) have grown stronger and stronger. The media of the NATO backers of the corrupt, white supremacist, Nazi infested Ukrainian regime have been forced to admit to the AFU's persistent, continued failure in the conventional war due to unavoidable realities; no logistics, no troops, no money.
The only support which Ukraine retains is political, and politicians aren't brave enough to fight in the wars they create or support.
A "Quick" Review
If you would like to see the irregular/asymmetrical against the overt political and armed actions of NATO's proxy force, Ukraine, a summary in provided in the Annex below. It also includes notable events like the date of Vixen Nulands' vanishing, the rout of Adviivka and President Putin' re-election.
Alastair Crooke summarizes the "asymmetrical" components of these events in his most recent article:
This asymmetry began slowly: a few random drone attacks that did little damage. This then accelerated to missiles fired into the center of Belgorod killing civilians; then it became an attack on a Russian transport Ilyushin plane transporting prisoners; and then moved to drone attacks on Russian refineries and naval drone war on Crimea.
A few weeks before Project Ukraine leader Nuland exited to Columbia University she gave impromptu remarks on a Kiev street warning of 'surprises' for Russia. This was followed by her using the work 'asymmetrical' 6 times in a speech at CSIS, a US weapons manufacturing funded war-tank. The arms manufacturers must be very happy with the transition. They have back orders to fill for years. The last thing they need are additions to them, else their inability to produce and the ineffectiveness of their weaponry which in turn reveals their grift, might become more obvious.
The Russian investigation, informed analysis of public statements and known events enables a summary of the Crocus Hall terror event to be written:
4 Tajik Muslim mercenaries were hired to cause death and destruction on March 9th, within the 48 hour window announced by the US Embassy in Moscow's threat alert. Having scoped the building on the same day as the US alert, the terrorists abandoned the operation on the target day of March 9th, due to heavy security. This aspect of the US' concerted efforts to destabilize the Russian presidential election failed.
The mercenaries wanted the other half of their money, or were afraid they'd need to repay the first half, so rescheduled for an event at the same location but with less security. March 22nd arrived, 133+ people were murdered, hundreds more were wounded and traumatized, the building was set alight and the lucky terrorists were allowed to escape in their ridiculously conspicuous car.
Russia's security services tracked the vehicle and shot out the tires in Bryansk oblast which borders Ukraine and Belarus. If these stupid terrorists had been intending to cross the border into Belarus they would have been met there by Belarus' services. But that just makes the Russian investigation more complicated than it needs be, so why let that happen?
No, they were not heading for Belarus, but Ukraine. After roughing up the 4 incompetent, murderous thugs the FSB gets confessions and their mobile phones. From this, and other sources, information is obtained about contacts in Ukraine to open a border crossing, contacts via Telegram, cryptocurrency exchanges, banking details etc. etc. etc.
The idiots actually thought they were making an escape and contacted people in Ukraine to facilitate this. Meanwhile, Admiral Kirby makes a fool of himself while members of the Western intelligence who knew about the plot are slapping themselves in the face. Why do we have to put up with these idiots, both over there and here!?
As Scott Ritter has emphasized (see sources), this was meant to be a covert action. It was designed to be deniable. That Western intelligence operatives did a pretty poor job with that deniability speaks of their incompetence. Annoyed, their compliant media have had to run around and issue narrative support. If you would like to learn what an issued narrative is, search for Reuters articles with the by-line "By Reuters". This is how Reuters issues them.
Just as their journalists are trained to provide repercussion-preventing anonymity to intelligence or other agents of the state they quote in their named stories, so also the editors don't publish their own names when they write the narrative pieces. Anonymity is endemic to narrative issuance associated with covert operations; it is hand in glove.
So, can we all just get over this now, and know full well, that this is what is going to happen for months and months? It may be the case that some elements of the above recounting of this planned terrorist attack are in minor error. Does that matter? To the FSB, yes. They wish to prosecute the people and bang 'em up for life, as they should be, if they are guilty. With 2 confessions, that is all be ensured. While the details do matter in a court, with these confessions and who knows how many videos of the assailants. They are cooked.
Whether Europe’s destruction of some of its strongest economies during its “all in” on Project Ukraine was a purposeful consequence of the US’ efforts remains unclear. Whatever the case, the Europeans did this to themselves and from a myopic US geopolitical stance, so who cares? The US gets to partially replace Europe’s Russian energy dependence with itself and to steal some of Europe’s more profitable high-end manufacturing. This is to the short term benefit of US industry. The impending implosion of NATO may expose this short-term thinking for the its myopia. Changing weapons suppliers or building replacements when under economic stress is a slow process, so the US may well not lose control of this process.
Russia knows that this change from overt to covert war has been happening. Its intelligence and counter-intelligence services are responding. If their responses are too heavy handed that may actually induce some of the political destabilization which the West has been trying to invoke by threatening a genocide in Donbas back in February 2022 and provoking a war to the happily corrupt tune of hundreds of billions of dollars.
Cover action is far cheaper. One cruise missile is 1 million dollars. The Crocus attack was $20 000.
At the Back Office in New York
The US' African-American, female permanent representative to the UN is a small cog in the grinding wheel of the battlefield of the US deep-state. Her insertion of the phrase 'non-binding' into her comments on the 14-0 UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza was just as planned and approved as the attack on Crocus Hall.
The Moon Of Alabama article which deconstructs this idiotic 'non-binding' notion, introduced by Linda Thomas-Greenfield and then reinforced by mouthpieces from the US regime and its media enablers, maintains the quality which can be expected from its author, good ol’ Bernard. He quotes articles by Arnaud Bertrand and Ted Snider to tie Linda's non-binding assertion in knots.
The article continues and highlights the damage which the US has done to its "Rules Based International Order" narrative. That label for the US' hegemony has been unwound since the Chinese delegation walked out of the room in Anchorage three years ago on March 18th, 2021. The US makes up the unwritten Rules, Based on whatever the International circumstances, and issues the Orders. Its problems include that other nations don't like the orders and are increasingly not seeing any legitimacy in their issuance.
Bernard includes Arnaud Bertrand's musing on the damage which the US has done to two international institutions it constructed with its newly acquired vassals after WWII; the UN and its Security Council and the World Trade Organization. Bertrand asks:
Most countries however don't want to live in an "eat or get eaten"/"might makes right" world, without rules or norms. So in time a new system will arise.
The biggest unknowns being: can it arise without a major global war, who will lead the construction of its foundations and how can it be set up so that this time around it is fair for all and respected by all?
to which Bernard leaves us to ponder. Answers have been gracing the pages of many a journal these last 3 years.
The 'who' are the growing international organisations of BRICS+ and the SCO. Their answer to the 'foundations' is to maintain the principles of the UN and to address some of its historical inequities. Where is India in the Security Council? Where is a more permanent voice for Africa and Latin America?
Bertrand's query of whether a global war is required can easily be answered by looking at who is trying to create one and whether they have the wherewithal to sustain it? The more interesting question is whether the nation which has incited the vast majority of wars since the end of the Cold War will have the political influence and media control to generate a world war.
The opportunity is slipping, and the powers behind the US know this. That is why this period of history is so dangerous. Those powers still believe they can.
